The Local Councils

Local Government: Essex County Council, Uttlesford District Council and Quendon & Rickling Parish Council are responsible for the provision and maintenance of services in the village.


Parish Council

The Parish Council has 7 members elected every 4 years to represent the 1 ward of Quendon & Rickling:

Parish Clerk:


The Parish Council meetings are held in Quendon Village Hall, usually at 6 to 8 weekly intervals, on Wednesday evenings and commence at 7:30 p.m.

The main responsibilities of the Parish Council are street lighting, bus shelters, the fountain, benches, litter bins, footpaths, grass cutting and other open public places, plus the maintenance of the Parish Emergency Plan.

The Parish Council also has the right to comment on Planning Applications, which are retained by the Parish Clerk and are available for viewing upon request.


Uttlesford District Council

Main responsibilities: Council Tax, Public Health, Housing, Recreational Activities, Planning, Off-Street Car Parking, Refuse Collections and Environmental Services.
